Flying in the first module

Each module of our house was about 40 feet long and weighed around 40,000 pounds. Its arrival was impressive as it arrived while the crane was being set up.

Each module came wrapped so workers crawled all each one to unwrap it.

Continuing the string of glitches that began with setting up the crane, the truck that brought this module got stuck in the deep layer of 2" by 4" rocks (spawls) placed along the construction entrance and intended to accommodate the heavy loads. This truck had only two pairs of driving wheels. Drivers unhooked it from the trailer and substituted a truck with four pairs of wheels. This second truck powered through the rocks and backed the module down to the crane.

Flying this module from the trailer to the foundation went smoothly, so everyone was relieved, hoping the rest of the day would go uneventfully.

The crane and crew guided the module to rest firmly on the foundation sill plates and the posts.

Workers unloaded the cargo of plumbing paraphernalia that traveled inside the module.
