Pouring the foundation slabs

Several weeks after pouring the footers and stem walls for the house and garage, the concrete crew came to pour support slabs for the house posts and slabs for the garage and pump house.

A stiff wind was blowing from the south made a cloudless day seem especially cold.

Piers for posts that will support the house were poured first, then slabs for the garage and pump house. Then these were smoothed, leveled and finished.

The simplicity of the finished work failed to reveal the intensity and focus that the workers needed to complete this work.
