Flying in module 3
Module 3 was wheeled in just as module 2 was beginning its flight.
I was hoping our string of glitches was over on this module. However, my drone collided with a steel strap as a set was being swung into place for module 3. It was a total loss (the drone, not the module)!
What's interesting about these steel straps is first that they are very strong, and second that each one is used only once. Then it is recycled. Apparently, a strap isn't good for more than one trip - or nobody wants to take a chance on a second trip. Thankfully, each did make its solo flight.
Module 3 came in backwards to its final position so it was swung around 90 degrees before being placed.
Members of the crew winch each module tight against the previous one so that they fit tightly together. The crew took special care for this one because it needed to be exactly positioned against both module 2 and the final module, number 4.
