Connecting the water line

Previously, electrical conduit and the water pipe had been laid in the trench for the well and the trench had been covered up. Also, the electrician had wired the pump house for the well pump and the booster pump.

Then it was necessary now to connect the water pipe to the well pump, which meant we needed to re-dig the trench at the well head. It was during the month of May and spring rains had saturated the soil and water was rapidly draining into the pit where we needed to connect the water pipe.

We used a sump pump to move most of the water out of the pit, just enough for the well contractor to join the water pipe to the well pump.

Then the well workers installed the holding tank (1,650 gallons) and connected pipes to the well water inside the pump house.
