This gallery shows photos of the land as we saw it on the ground when we originally visited it.

We noticed the landmarks:

• Forest preserve to the north
• Existing shed, previously a horse barn
• Lots of weeds (and tall, too)
• A peek-a-boo view of Mount Rainier (on a clear day)
• The unmistakable signs of wetland

But we saw possibilities and we put on our thinking caps to see what it might be like.This land brings to mind a song:

Oh give me land lots of land under starry skies above
Don't fence me in

Let me ride through the wide open country that I love

Let me be by myself in the evening breeze
Listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees
