Packing up

We had listed the house with an agent and set a date for an open house. Holding the open house required storm damage repairs, repainting some rooms, a professional cleaning and staging with other furnishings.

Throughout February, we bought boxes, eliminated unnecessary stuff, packed the keepers and moved them to temporary storage locations.

Moving 55 boxes of books from the upstairs to the main floor was heavy work - Maura put each box in a sack, tied a rope to it and lowered it over the upstairs railing. David caught each one and stacked them around the first floor.
