Building a fire pit
Maura wanted a fire pit for evening socializing during her 75th birthday/house warming party. The best place for it was along the dispersion trench to the west of our back lawn.
So David scraped and smoothed the area with my tractor, taking advantage of the opportunity of part-preparation urgencyto remove remaining sedge rush grass.
Maura took charge of the project, designed the fire pit using cinder blocks and pavers, and assembled it with materials we brought from Snoquaolmie. She topped it off with a gravel surround left over from the main walkway update.
Typical of the frenzy to prepare for the big party, both of us were "tired as a dog."
And we spent the evening of the party with family and a fire, safely housed within the pit.
